Challenge Cup: Giants edge out Panthers for place in final

The Belfast Giants are through to the final of the Premier Sports Elite League Challenge Cup.

Last night (Wednesday) they beat the Nottingham Panthers 2-1 to progress to next month's showpiece, to be staged at the SSE Arena in Belfast.

It was the second time in just four days the two sides had faced other.

On Sunday Adam Keefe's side beat the Panthers in the league on penalties.

This one was another tense encounter and they booked their place in the final thanks to a David Goodwin double.

The Giants will now face the Cardiff Devils for the silverware which they last won in 2019.

Meanwhile, focus returns to the Elite League this weekend as the Giants travel to Coventry on Saturday for a showdown with the Blaze, before returning home to the SSE Arena on Sunday to take on the Manchester Storm
