A Portrush caddy is celebrating the biggest win of his career.

Ricky Elliott was right at the side of new US Open winner Brooks Koepka as he picked up a record $2.16m.

It is understood Elliott will get a five to 10 per cent share of the pay-out.

Koepka equalled Rory McIroy’s record US Open score – finishing on 16 under par – to take the title.

He has been with Koepka since 2013.

Famously, he carried Koepka's bag while he played for the US at last year's Ryder Cup

McIlroy, meanwhile, missed the cut after a disappointing comeback following injury
