Bautista takes the win in WSBK opener as Rea claims fifth

Jonathan Rea took fifth place in the World Superbikes' opening race of the weekend in Misano, Italy.

Spaniard Alvaro Bautista took the chequered flag in first place - the 12th time from 13 outings he has done so this season.

Rea's chances in the race were damaged when he lost a large segment of time to his rivals for the win on both laps six and seven.

In the end however the Northern Irishman held off Dominique Aegerter and took fifth spot.
