Ballymena have kept alive their hopes of a top-six place when the Danske Bank Premiership splits at the end of the month.

David Jeffrey’s side got back on track with a 2-1 win over Cliftonville last night.

Goals from Jonathan McMurray and Johnny Flynn helped end a run of three straight defeats.

The result leaves Ballymena four points behind Glentoran with a game in hand.

All eyes turn to the Oval now when the two sides meet on Friday night in what will be a league six-pointer.

At the moment the Glens are in pole position with a much better goal difference.
