Allen stages dramatic fight-back to claim Scottish Open title
The Antrim man also picks up cheque for £70,000
Mark Allen is the new Scottish Open champion.
The Antrim man beat Shaun Murphy 9-7 last night (Sunday) to lift the title – and a cheque for £70,000.
Allen found himself 7-6 behind at one stage at the Emirates Arena.
But the World Number 5 fought back, reeling off three straight frames courtesy of breaks of 66, 134 and 83 to secure the trophy.
It is the third tournament Allen has won this year.
In January the 32-year-old picked up the Masters title and has since won the International Championships in China and in the last couple of weeks finished runner-up in the UK Championships to Ronnie O'Sullivan..
He has now earned nearly £400,000 this year as a result.
In the New Year, Allen defends his Masters title.
