Michael Conlan says it's 'time for war' as he prepares to face TJ Doheny in Falls Park on Friday night.

The pair will clash in the main event of a huge fight night as part of the Feile an Phobail festival.

There's a WBA featherweight title on the line, and the winner will also secure a mandatory shot at the outright title.

The build-up to this bout has been spiky, with the fighters getting into a verbal clash during Tuesday's press confernece.

Doheny said: “The fight was agreed upon before I even started by camp to be 10 rounds at super-bantamweight. He’s running down from 126lbs to 122lbs and can’t even make the weight.

I’m coming here as the away fighter and everyone keeps mentioning that, but the best performances of my career seem to be when I am the away fighter. You see that with the shifts I’ve put in."

Conlan replied: "Stop bottling it. Are you going to walk away? No, so the fight is happening. I’ll box the ears off you on Friday night.

“I’m the better fighter and I’ll be victorious. No matter what he tries to bring, I’ll be the one getting my hand raised on Friday night.

I can’t wait to be back in Belfast. I don’t think there was a better atmosphere in Ireland all year round than when we fought here in 2019, and it’s going to be special again this week.”

At the weigh-in, Conlan (15-0, 8 KOs) came in at 124.2lbs, while Doheny (22-2, 16 KOs) was slightly lighter at 123.8lbs.

The massive card also sees Lee McGregor (10-0, 8 KOs) defend his European bantamweight title against Vincent Legrand (32-0, 17 KOs). McGregor weighed 117.7lbs, and Legrand was bang on the limit at 118lbs.

Tyrone McKenna (21-2-1, 6 KOs) faces Jose Felix (39-4-1, 30 KOs) for the vacant WBO Intercontinental super-lightweight title, with McKenna coming in at 139.3lbs, and Felix weighing 135.5lbs.

Another title fight on the card sees unbeaten Padraig McCrory (11-0, 5 KOs) challenge Sergei Gorokhov (11-2-2, 7 KOs) for his WBC International Silver super-middleweight title. McCrory tipped the scales at 167.9lbs, and Gorokhov was 167lbs.

Sean McComb (11-1, 5 KOs) looks to return to winning ways, as he goes up against Vicente Rodriguez (39-6-1, 21 KOs). McComb weighed 137lbs, and Rodriguez was 136.1lbs.

Elsewhere on the card, James McGivern faces Ed Harrison, Fearghus Quinn takes on Fernando Heredia, and Callum Bradley squares off with Stefan Nicolae.
