'We'll be ready for Lewandowski' - Cathcart
By Nigel Gould
Craig Cathcart says Northern Ireland have a game plan to deal with Polish hit-man Robert Lewandowski.
The Watford defender is confident they will have done their homework on the prolific Bayern Munich striker ahead of Sunday’s opener in Nice.
“I am sure we will be watching a lot of footage on him in the next few days,” he said.
“We’ve done a bit of this already defensively – just to stop his runs.”
Cathcart says it's all about looking at strengths and weaknesses.
"It will be the little details that make a big difference. The attention to detail is something that Michael (O'Neill) has brought in.
"We get little booklets on all the opposition players. Every player we get a little dossier on and areas to exploit and those are the small percentages that can really help.",
Team-mate Conor McLaughlin says he is still pinching himself he is playing for his country.
“It’s been an amazing journey,” he said.
“I have said it a few times … a couple of year ago no one even knew who I was.”
