Where?

Portstewart Golf Club, 117 Strand Road, Portstewart, BT55 7PG.

Considered one of the country's finest links courses, Portstewart features three 18-hole layouts. 2017 sees this course host the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open for the first time.

When?

Tournament days: July 6-9, gates open 06.45 July 6 & 7, 07.00 July 8 & 9.

What?

Rory McIlroy defends his title after bagging a win at the K Club in Kildare in the last three holes in 2016. Hosted by the Rory Foundation, the competition is in Northern Ireland for the third time in six years.

Getting there...

A free public park and ride service is available. Shuttle services start at 06.30am and run until at least 9 o'clock every evening, leaving every 10 minutes. Spectators should follow event signage.

Public transport

Special coach services operate from July 5-9. The local bus service (140) between Coleraine and Portstewart operates every 20 minutes throughout the day and every 10 minutes during mid-morning and early evening.

There will be an hourly train timetable to and from Coleraine , Londonderry and Belfast, with some additional early morning and late night services. Free shuttle buses will transport spectators directly between Coleraine bus and train station and the event. See website for more details.

Need to know

The tented village offers spectator toilet facilities, medical and first aid supplies, an ATM, interactive zone, big screen, show stage, main scoreboard, official merchandise area and a taxi pick up and drop off site.

Please note there is no bookmaker on site.

Spectators can move freely around the golf course but must stay outside the ropes. Controlled crossing points are marked by yellow signposts and must be used when crossing fairways.

Spectators are asked to refrain from requesting player autographs on the course.

Lost property will be held at the information centre in the tented village until the close of play each day and then items are handed into the Championship office.

No pets are allowed apart from guide dogs.

Cameras are not permitted on Championship days.
