Yellow weather warning for snow & ice in place from today across Northern Ireland
Showers expected to become more frequent during the afternoon and evening, feeding south across Northern Ireland and turning to snow above 150m.
According to the Met Office, some places could see 2-5cm of fresh snow, with a further 10cm over mountain tops.
Icy patches are expected to develop on untreated surfaces during the evening and overnight as temperatures drop below freezing.
A yellow weather warning has been issued for ice and snow from 3pm today (Thurs 21st) to 10am tomorrow (Fri 22nd).

Today: Scattered sleet and snow showers will turn increasingly heavy and more frequent in the afternoon across the north. Largely dry with sunny spells in the south, but showers spreading here towards the end of the day. Maximum temperature 4 °C.
Tonight: Frequent, often heavy showers of rain, sleet and snow will affect most parts this evening and overnight, but are likely to be most frequent across the northeast. Minimum temperature -1 °C.
Friday: Scattered showers of rain, sleet and occasionally snow in the morning. These mostly dying out by the afternoon with increasing amounts of sunshine. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Strong winds with rain and snow on Saturday. Remaining windy but milder and rain rain clearing on Sunday. Rain or showers and a risk of gales on Monday.
