Storm Goretti is set to bring "disruption" across the UK, as forecasters warn of heavy snow, rain, and wind.

Thursday will see a cloudy and cold start to the day with wintry weather as Storm Goretti, named by Meteo France, comes in from the south-west.

The Met Office has issued another yellow weather warning for ice, from midnight tonight to 10am tomorrow (Wed 7th to Thur 8th Jan).

Met Office Chief Forecaster Neil Armstrong said: “Storm Goretti will be a multi-hazard event, with the most significant impacts from snow in parts of Wales and the Midlands, though rain and strong winds also have the potential to bring disruption to many.

What to expect in NI:

After a band of rain clears through on Wednesday evening, clearing skies will allow temperatures to fall rapidly bringing an ice risk overnight, especially on untreated surfaces.

A few showers will also persist across counties Antrim, Derry, Tyrone and Fermanagh, adding to the ice risk in these areas with rain falling on frozen ground.
