Northern Ireland is gearing up for the hottest weekend of the year so far, and the fine weather will continue into next week.

According to forecasters a dry and warm bank holiday weekend is on the cards with temperatures widely reaching the low twenties, according to the Met Office.

"Generally fine through the weekend and into Monday with long sunny spells. Feeling very warm for many but cooler towards east coast."

The improvement begins with temperatures rising through Friday.

The start of next week will be dry and warm in many areas with sunny spells.

Temperatures will range from 19 to 22 degrees with the best of any sunshine across northern and western counties. Feeling cooler along the coasts.

Saturday - ☀️ - Sunny spells. Feeling warm. Highs of 21°C.
