'Mini-heatwave' forecast next week in Northern Ireland
It might be time to dust off the BBQ 🙌 ☀️
Temperatures are forecast to rise next week across parts of the UK, some are even teasing we could see a 'mini-heatwave' on the way.
David Oliver, Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist, explains: "Often warm spells are driven by warmer air arriving from further south, but the origins of next week’s air are from Scandinavia and central Europe.
"This air mass will be warmed by compression as the high pressure begins to build, and this warmth will be boosted by daytime heating from the April sun.”

Today: It will be a rather overcast and wet day with outbreaks of rain throughout. Rain may be heavy at times with some drier spells possible in the east later in the afternoon. Breezy southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Tonight: A cloudy night with rain for most during the evening. Cloudy overnight with rain slowly clearing to the east and becoming confined to the far southeast by dawn. Minimum temperature 4 °C.
Saturday: Rain in the far southeast to start clearing eastwards. Otherwise dry with cloud in the morning breaking up and turning patchy allowing plenty of sunny spells to develop. Feeling warm. Maximum temperature 17 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday: Cloudy with a few light showers on Sunday. Turning drier on Monday and mostly cloudy with a few brighter intervals. Dry with longer sunny spells developing on Tuesday.
