Met Office yellow snow-ice warning issued for Northern Ireland tonight

A weather warning for snow and ice has been issued for a large swathe of Northern Ireland tonight with sub-zero temperatures and wintry showers forecast.
With temperatures expected to fall to as low as 0°C in rural areas, forecasters say there is a risk of ice on Sunday morning with a yellow "be aware" warning in place across all counties.
According to the Met Office; "A band of rain, sleet and snow, accompanied by gusty winds, will move eastwards across Northern Ireland during the early hours of Sunday. Where snow falls, 1 to 3 cm are likely whilst on ground above 200 metres 2 to 5 cm is likely and above 400 metres, accumulations will be higher and close to 5 to 10 cm in some places. Icy patches are also likely to develop on untreated surfaces as rain, sleet and snow clears"
Expect ice on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
The warning comes into effect from 02:00 lasting through until 11:00 Sunday

Sunday - Icy start with outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow. Snow mainly over higher ground, but slight temporary accumulations possible to lower levels at times. High 5°C / Low 1°C
Monday - Wintry showers soon dying out on Monday, but rain and hill snow later. High 9°C / Low 4°C
Tuesday - Showers or longer spells of rain. High 8°C / Low 5°C
Wednesday - Snow over the hills. Severe gales by evening rush hour, 65-75mph gusts in places with a further yellow 'wind' warning issued. High 9°C / Low 6°C
