After an average start to summer and one of the wettest Junes on record, a weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued for Northern Ireland.
According to the Met Office, thundery showers could bring localised flooding to parts of the the country later this week.
"Heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop during Thursday afternoon. Where heavy showers and thunderstorms do develop they will be slow-moving bringing the potential for 20-30 mm of rain in an hour and 40-50 mm in 2-3 hours. Showers and thunderstorms will gradually die out during the evening."
The Met Office's weather warning comes into affect from 12:00 on Thursday lasting through until 21:00.
"Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures."
"There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded or struck by lighting, causing damage to some buildings."
"Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services."
"There is a slight chance that flooding or lightning strikes could cause power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses."
There is some good news though as high pressure and more settled weather looks set to return in time for the bank holiday weekend.
