Met Office issues snow warning for Northern Ireland as 'Beast from the East' arrives

Bad news, it is set to get much colder.
A week-long cold snap is expected to chill Northern Ireland from tomorrow.
Easterly winds are set to bring a blast of Siberian air from western Russia towards us.
Temperatures will drop close to freezing during the day and well below that overnight, when there will be sharp widespread frosts and the risk of ice.
The Met Office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ weather warning.
Heavy snow showers are expected to develop through the middle part of the week.
There is the potential for travel delays on roads, as well as delays or cancellations to rail and air services. Some rural communities could become cut off. Power cuts may also occur.
The Met Office say "There is the potential for 10-15 cm of snow in places where showers become more frequent - whilst nearby locations may see much less frequent showers and only small accumulations of 1-3 cm. By the end of Wednesday, more than 20 cm may have accumulated in some eastern counties."
Exact locations for the snow and how much will accumulate is still a little uncertain at this stage.
During the last big freeze in 2010 and 2013, up to 2 foot of snow blanketed the country and temperatures plummeted to below freezing.
There is one thing for certain - it is set to be chillier than usual heading into March.
