Yellow weather warning for heavy rain and strong winds issued this weekend
Gusts of up to 65mph are expected along the north coast 💨
Looks like we're in for another blustery weekend, after a yellow wind weather warning last night, the Met Office has issued another for Saturday.
Strong winds and heavy rain will develop in the afternoon and evening, with the yellow warning in place from 2pm Sat 14th to 3am on Sun 15th January.
Gusts of 45-50 mph are expected widely, with 55-60 mph in the north, and the chance of a few gusts of 65 mph along the north coast.
The Met Office suggests "showers will become heavy and persistent, particularly in the north and east, with 20-30 mm of rain falling in 3-6 hours, most likely through the evening, with high ground in the northeast possibly seeing 40-50 mm."

-Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer
-Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
-Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
-Flooding of some homes and businesses is possible

Tonight: Cloudy with occasional rain, this mainly light, but the odd heavier outbreak is possible in the south. Light to moderate southwest breeze. Minimum temperature 3 °C.
Saturday: Early rain clearing by daybreak then a bright morning with some sunshine. Heavy showers will then arrive in the afternoon on strengthening northwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday: A colder spell of weather with some clear or sunny spells but also some sleet or snow showers. Sharp frost.
