Amber weather warning issued for NI this evening
The Met Office has issued a warning for very heavy rainfall expected on Sunday night, which could lead to the potential for flooding.
An amber weather warning has been from 11pm this evening to 8am Monday morning, affecting parts of counties Antrim, Armagh and Down.
There remains some uncertainty in the northern extent of the heaviest rain, but some places are likely to have 50-75 mm of rain in a short space of time with a risk of flash flooding.
Earlier today the west of Northern Ireland had a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms.
What should I expect?

☔️ Fast flowing or deep floodwater is likely, causing danger to life
⚠️ Homes and businesses are likely to be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
☔️ A good chance some communities will be cut off by flooded roads
☔️ Delays and some cancellations to train and bus services are likely
⚠️ Power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses likely

Monday: A cloudy day with spells of rain, this most persistent and occasionally heavy across the east. Drier spells of weather across the west. Maximum temperature 19 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday: Remaining unsettled on Tuesday and Wednesday with further showers, although likely to be less heavy than previous days. Some drier more settled weather on Thursday and feeling less humid.
