60mph winds set to hit Northern Ireland as Met Office issues yellow warning

After weeks of settled weather and glorious sunshine, it's all change as 60-70mph winds are forecast to hit Northern Ireland tonight.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for between 3am and 3pm on Thursday, which could cause disruption to travel and power cuts.
"A very windy spell will develop during Wednesday night in association with a deep area of low pressure. The strongest winds will reach the west coast during the early hours of Thursday before spreading eastwards. Expect gusts between 50 and 60 mph in many areas and possibly around 70 mph in some exposed locations. In addition, a spell of heavy rain will accompany the wind."
There may be a chance of longer journey times or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected. Forecasters are warning that buildings could be damaged and to take care near the coastline due to large waves being thrown onto sea fronts.
