Not one, but two, spectacular projections will be beamed onto two historic landmarks in East Antrim this week - to literally shine a light on World Mental Health Day.

The special event is called Passing Waves: Hope Through Light and will see amazing images beamed onto Chaine Memorial Tower in Larne and Carrickfergus Castle next Thursday from 7pm to 10pm.

There will be a lighting and sound display as part of this which has been curated in a unique commission by artist and musician Ryan Vail.

This exciting project has been planned by Extern in partnership with Northern Ireland Alternatives and Wonder Arts with the support of the Executive Office and they would love your support too on the night to witness the spectacle and share it on your socials.

Why is it called Passing Waves? Well both these iconic buildings are located beside the sea and the name is to promote the message that passing waves are soft, but in storms they are violent!

The partners want to use World Mental Health day to remind everyone in our community on that hope is within reach, even in the most difficult times.

A message from the organisers reads: "Together, as a community, let’s look out for one another, spread kindness, and offer a listening ear to those who need it.

"Your struggles do not define you; they are just one part of your journey. Never forget that it’s okay to ask for help, and that brighter days are ahead.

"Let’s hold on to hope, because every day is a new chance for healing and growth!"
