Weekend crashes claim three lives

Police are investigating after a number of fatal crashes over the weekend.

A woman and man were killed in separate collisions in Armagh and Lisburn on Sunday.

The woman who died was involved in a two-car crash on the Loughgall Road around 2.45pm.

She was driving a red Vauxhall Viva which collided with a black Honda Civic.

Earlier in the day, a 19-year-old man died when the silver Ford Focus he was driving was involved in a crash with a tanker lorry on the Saintfield Road near Lisburn.

The victim, Seanna Duffy, was the son of prominent Lurgan republican Colin Duffy.

Also on Sunday, a Northern Ireland motorcyclist was killed while competing in a road race in County Westmeath.

Darren Keys, who was 34 and from Ballyclare, suffered fatal injuries when his bike crashed during the Walderstown Road Races around 11.30am.

He was flown to the Mater Hospital in Dublin where he was pronounced dead.
