Storm Isha has well and truly arrived in Northern Ireland.

A Tornado Watch warning has been issued by TORRO (The Tornado and Storm Research Organisation) across the country.

The storm is set to bring winds of up to 80mph and heavy rain from this evening. The 'risk to life' rare amber weather warning is in place across the UK. It officially kicks in at 6pm in Northern Ireland.

The extreme weather is already causing disruption across the country. P&O Ferries cancelled the 4pm and 8pm crossings from Larne to Cairnryan today due to the “extreme forecasted weather”.

Storm Isha has also had an impact already in the Republic of Ireland. As of 12 noon, a total of 56 flights have been cancelled by airlines operating through Dublin Airport. That includes 21 incoming and 35 departing flights. Some flights have been redirected to Belfast. Belfast International Airport has also warned there may be flight disruptions.

Forecasters are warning people across the UK to consider if travelling is necessary. The storm is to 'batter everybody in the UK' tonight, and into the morning.

The weather warning is in place here until 6am tomorrow.
