County Tyrone mum who documented journey with ovarian cancer on TV show dies
Jemma McGowan appeared on Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over
Tv presenter Stacey Dooley has paid tribute to a young County Tyrone mum following her death from ovarian cancer.
Jemma McGowan passed away yesterday at the age of 29.
The mum of three publicly documented her journey with the disease on social media, gaining almost 90-thousand followers on Instagram.
She appeared on an episode of “Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over” titled Mum Fighting the Clock – which documented her story.
The TV presenter took to Instagram to say “Jemma was a joy to work alongside and we continued our relationship as pals. I’m thinking of her Clive and her gorgeous babies.”
An online statement from W channel said, “We are extremely saddened to hear that Jemma McGowan has passed away. The inspirational young mother bravely fought Stage 4 ovarian cancer and her appearance on Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over touched all of our hearts. She will be remembered for her incredible strength and positivity.”
A death notice for the young mum said she died “Peacfully at home surrounded by her loving family”.
A service of thanksgiving for the life of Jemma will be held in Cappagh Parish Church on Sunday at 2:00pm followed by interment in adjoining graveyard.
