Two charged over ATM thefts in Co Antrim

Two men have been charged with offences relating to the theft of hole-in-the wall cash machines in Co Antrim.

They are expected to appear in Ballymena Magistrates Court later today (Thursday).

Detective Inspector Richard Thornton said: “Detectives investigating a number of recent thefts of ATM machines have charged two men with a number of offences.

“A 21 year old male has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking causing damage to property, arson, criminal damage and two counts of theft.

"These charges are in connection with the theft of an ATM machine from the Tully Road area of Nutts Corner on Tuesday, 30 April.

“A 31 year old man has been charged with four counts of theft, three counts of arson, taking a motor vehicle without authority and criminal damage. These charges are in connection with the theft of ATM machines from the Junction One Retail Park in Antrim on Friday, 01 February.

“As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service."
