Two charged after reports of County Down stabbing
A man and a woman have been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent after an incident in Co Down.
Police said it was reported that a teenage boy had been stabbed in the Lough Park area of Ballynahinch on Saturday.
The boy was taken to hospital, and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The man and woman, both aged 20, were arrested and have been further charged with possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
The man also faces charges of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and common assault.
They will appear at Lisburn Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Inspector Campbell said: "We received a report at around 7.25pm that a teenage boy had been stabbed by a man in the Lough Park area.
"It was reported that a man and woman approached a group of young people, when the man produced a knife and stabbed the victim to the abdomen and assaulted him.
"The boy was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening at this time.
"A teenage girl was also punched to the face during the incident."
