Two arrested following County Antrim incident

Two men have been arrested following an aggravated burglary in Ballycastle.

Detectives in Coleraine are appealing for information and witnesses following an aggravated burglary in the Altananam Park area of Ballycastle on Thursday December 15th.

Detective Sergeant Gardiner said: “Police received a report at 7.15am that three men had entered a property and threatened the occupants before leaving the scene. Thankfully no-one was harmed.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on a number of offences including possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, theft and common assault.

A 31-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of common assault, possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. Both are currently assisting with our enquiries.

“Our investigation is continuing and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area on Thursday morning, at the time the incident took place or who may have captured mobile, dashcam or CCTV footage to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 406 15/12/22.”
