The 17-year-old was attacked by four men with baseball bats and sustained facial injuries as well as fractures to his hands, legs and shoulder in the attack.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson said “This was quite a reckless act and I would ask the for the public’s assistance in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

"I would ask anyone who witnessed this incident, or knows anything about it, to contact non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 100 of 11/05/17.

"Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
