Teens charged over Bangor assault

Trio including 16-year-old girl appearing in court today

Three teenagers have been charged over an assault in Bangor on Friday evening.

They are due to appear at Downpatick Magistrates Court later today (Monday).

A 17-year-old boy is charged with GBH with intent.

He is also accused of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and aiding and abetting GBH.

An 18-year-old woman and a girl aged 16 are both facing charges of GBH with intent.

It follows an attack on a 16-year-old girl at a pier in the Co Down town on Friday evening.

The victim was left with serious injuries to her face and head to the extent that hospital staff did not want to risk x-raying her face initially.

The PSNI described the incident as "particularly vicious".
