PSNI officers and MLAs are set to address concerns over rising incidents of violence against women and girls.

They will be taking part later in a special event tonight (Thursday) organised by online magazine Causeway Coast Women.

Editor, Gillian Anderson, said it was vital women are given safety assurances.

“Recent events have understandably left many women feeling vulnerable,” she added.

"This meeting offers an essential platform for open dialogue, empowering community voices and exploring practical solutions to improve safety.”

Prompted by incidents that have raised significant alarm within the community, the meeting has been organised at the request of local residents.

Among the speakers will be from MLAs Claire Sugden and Cara Hunter.

Ms Hunter spoke to Downtown Radio and Cool FM recently to highlight those concerns (see below).

Elected representatives and police officials will attend to discuss safety measures, provide expert guidance, and outline strategies to enhance public security in the region.

Women wishing to attend are invited to register their interest by visiting https://www.causewaycoastwomen.com/public-meeting.

The meeting takes place tonight at 7 o'clock at the West Bann Development Centre, Killowen Court, Coleraine.
