North Belfast security alert 'caused by large firework'

A security alert in north Belfast has ended after police discovered 'a large firework'.

A PSNI spokesperson said the men's actions were serious offences

Officers were called to examine a suspicious object at around 9.30pm on Saturday on the Shore Road.

Further examinations revealed it was in fact a firework.

The area had been closed off between Fortwilliam Park and Skegoneill Avenue, but has since reopened.
