Restriction review day with ministers set to sign off on indoor hospitality & wedding receptions
Indoor hospitality is set to reopen in Northern Ireland on May 24 if ministers give the green light on Thursday.
A host of easements are due to be made by the Executive, who will be holding their meeting around lunchtime.
Indoor visits in a domestic setting are also to be allowed involving six people from no more than two households and indoor visitor attractions including amusement arcades, bingo halls, museums, galleries and cinemas are to reopen from May 24.
Also from May 24, the Stay Local message is to be removed, numbers increased for indoor gatherings, numbers increased to 500 for outdoor gatherings, libraries are to reopen, and schools can resume extra-curricular activities, indoor extra-curricular sports, outdoor inter-schools sports and day educational visits.
Table settings for indoor dining are also being eased, meaning 6 people from any household can sit at a table.
However, there are still mitigations in place:
Children under 12 are not counted in the 6
- Table service only
- More will be permitted if all are from one household, to a maximum of 10.
- All contact details must be taken and retained.
- Social distancing required - minimum of 1m.
- Must stay at table - no gaming machines, pool tables, etc.;
- Face coverings must be worn once no longer seated for any reason, for example, to go to the toilet
- No meal requirement
- No dancing
- No live music
- Music must be at ambient level to permit normal conversation
- Risk assessment as per current regulations for outdoors
