14-year-old boy stabbed in Lisburn
Police are appealing for information.
A 14-year-old boy has been stabbed in Lisburn.
Police say the boy was approached by a group of teenagers near a shop on the Knockmore Road last night, before being stabbed in his lower back.
A police spokesperson said: We received a report that at around 7.40 a 14-year-old boy had been approached by a group of teenagers, before being stabbed to the lower back. He attended hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening at this stage.
"Officers attended the scene and located the suspect, a 15-year-old boy, who was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offence weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence. He remains in police custody at this time.
Police enquiries are ongoing and they are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
