PORTRUSH: Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

A man in his 30s has been arrested on attempted murder following a “altercation involving a number of people” in Portrush.

Police received a report of an incident in the Glenarm Avenue area on Friday afternoon (Friday 24th September).

Sergeant said: “At approximately 4.15pm, a report was received of an altercation involving a number of people.

“Officers attended the scene together with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

“A man and a woman were taken to hospital for treatment for injuries following the incident.

“Two men, one aged in his 30s and one aged in his 20s, and a woman aged in her 30s, were arrested on suspicion of offences including disorderly behaviour and grievous bodily harm with intent.

“The man in his 30s was further arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

“Enquiries are continuing, and police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time, and has any information, to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1361 of 24/09/21.”
