The Met Office has issued its first ever Amber Extreme Heat Warning as large areas of the UK will continue to see hot conditions this week.

As temperatures continue to soar, locals are finding quirky ways to battle the heat and cool down. We've seen everything from paddle boarding to doggy dips in the sea.

The Met Office has shared that they expect the high temperatures across the country to dip slightly from Wednesday. And it looks like our listeners have been making the most of the sunshine before it disappears soon.

  • Make sure that you go to a lifeguarded beach
  • Never bring toy inflatables to the beach
  • Stay hydrated throughout the day
  • Don't forget the suncream!
  • If you get into difficulty in the water call for help, or if you have your phone dial 112 or 999 and ask for the coast guard
