Pedestrian dies following Belfast accident

A man in his 70s has sadly died following a collision on the Newtownards Road in Belfast this morning.

The man, who was a pedestrian, was struck by a lorry close to Dee Street at around 8.30am.

The Newtownards Road, which had been closed for several hours, has now reopened.

Investigating officers are asking witnesses or anyone who may have captured footage of the collision to get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference 273 18/11/22. Information can also be submitted online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/
