Almost 60 fire fighters tackle blaze in Newry

NIFRS have been dealing with a fire involving an industrial premises on the Cloughanramer Road, Newry.

At its peak, six pumping appliances and 56 firefighters were in attendance from Newry, Warrenpoint, Rathfriland and Banbridge as well as specialist appliances from Belfast and Lisburn.

NIFRS operations have been scaled back and two fire appliances, supported by a high volume pump, will remain at the scene.

Local residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed.
