NI braced for Storm Eunice

The Met Office has warned Storm Eunice may cause disruption due to heavy snow and some strong winds.

A yellow weather warning for snow and strong winds are in place until 6pm on Friday.

It is the second storm to hit Northern Ireland in a week as Storm Dudley brought gust of 70-90mph on Thursday.

Meanwhile a rare red weather warning has been issued for the south-west of Ireland as the island.

The Met Eireann storm warning for Counties Kerry and Cork comes into effect at 3am on Friday morning and will remain in place until 8am.

What to expect

• There is a chance of travel delays on roads, possibly with stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.

• There is a slight chance that some rural communities could be temporarily cut off.

• There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.
