Newry stabbing leaves man with 'life-changing injuries'
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
A 41 year old man's been left with life-changing injuries after being stabbed in the leg in Newry.
It happened at a house on Talbot Street at around 10.30 last night.
Two men - aged 22 and 35 - have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Detective Inspector Trevor Stevenson said, “We were alerted by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service at 10:35pm to an incident in a house on Talbot Street where a man had been stabbed in his leg.”
"Our officers attended the scene where they arrested two men, aged 22 and 35 years old, both on suspicion of attempted murder.”
"The male victim, aged 41 years old, was taken to hospital where he remains this morning undergoing surgery.”
"The two men we arrested remain in custody as we continue with our enquiries. “
"This was a savage attack which has left the victim with life changing injuries, and I want to appeal to anyone who was in the Talbot Street area last night, prior to or around the time the incident was reported to us, to get in touch.”
