Nearly 70 jobs announced for Belfast

New roles have been announced by both tech-firm Chargifi, and hospitability positions at Titanic Belfast.

41 jobs have been created in a £3.6 million investment by London tech firm Chargifi. The business is a leading provider of wireless charging technology.

The multi-million investment will include creating a Technology and Business Development Hub in the city. The hub is part of the company’s expansion plans that aims to significantly increase its sales by developing its presence across the world.

The company has been supported by Invest NI who have offered £328,000 towards the new jobs. CEO of Invest NI Alistair Hamilton said about the news, “The new jobs created by Chargifi will contribute over £1.8m in annual salaries to the local economy and will introduce new skills and new opportunities to the ICT sector here.”

The hub in Belfast will focus on the development of Chargifi’s core technology and the CEO of the tech-company, Dan Bladen highlighted its importance, “We anticipate that the market for wireless charging will grow significantly over the next couple of years. Chargifi has the vision and technology to help drive fast adoption in the market and we are gearing up to meet the ever increasing demand. The new hub in Belfast is an important part of our growth story.”

Elsewhere, in Belfast, there are 27 jobs announced at Titanic Belfast. The museum is hiring part time and full time hospitability staff.
