A 26 year old man has been charged in connection with the murder of Mary Ward in South Belfast.
He was arrested in Dublin on Wednesday.
22 year old Mary Ward was found dead at her home on Melrose Street in South Belfast 10 days ago, though it's believed she was last seen alive on the 25th of September.
She'd recently reported to the PSNI that she'd been the victim of a violent crime.
The PSNI has referred itself to the watchdog over the case “because of previous contact between Ms Ward and the force.”
The investigation is now being led by An Garda Síochána following the arrest in Dublin.
An update this morning said, “The man arrested by Gardaí as part of this investigation has been charged.”
“He is expected to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin Dublin at 10.30am this morning, Friday, 11th October 2024.”Man charged
