Man beaten in 'inhuman and ferocious' attack in Larne
A man has been beaten with bats and pick axe handles in Larne, in what police have called an 'inhuman and ferocious' assault.
A number of masked men forced their way into a house on St John's Place at around 2.30am on Monday.
The victim was then savagely attacked in front of a woman and two young children.
Detective Inspector McStravick said those who witnessed the assault had been left 'traumatised' by the incident.
The man has suffered a suspected broken leg as a result and is being treated in hospital.
Police have appealed for anyone with information on the attack to come forward.
