Man arrested on suspicion of south Belfast assault
A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault on police in south Belfast.
Shortly before 11 o'clock on Friday night officers were responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Wildflower Way area.
A man was found in the rear of the car, and when officers spoke to him, he closed tried to close the door before struggling with them.
One officer sustained injuries to his thumb - the man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of assault, possession of a class B controlled drug and possession of an offensive weapon.
