Man arrested following Newtownabbey armed robbery

Police investigating an armed robbery in Newtownabbey have arrested a man.

Shortly after 5 o'clock on Wednesday, it was reported a man armed with a bread knife entered an off licence in the area and demanded money.

Cash was handed over.

When police attended, a 34-year old was detained.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "“Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone with witnessed the incident or who has any information, is asked to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 1287 14/12/22.
