Man (32) charged over suspected drug death

He will appear in Newry magistrates court on Wednesday.

A man has been charged with manslaughter after the death of another man in Newry.

The 32-year-old will also appear in court today on a number of drugs charges including possession of a Class A drug, namely heroin, with intent to supply.

The body of the 51-year-old man was found in the Dublin Road area of the town on Wednesday.

Four men (aged 56, 46, 34 & 32) and a 50-year-old women have also been arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences, including Possession of heroin, with intent to supply.

They were detained following a search of a property in the city yesterday.

All five people are currently in custody.
