Ireland’s leading pop/country artist Lisa McHugh has joined the Downtown team to sit behind the desk, with her very own weekly show.

We’re thrilled to announce that The Lisa McHugh Show kicks off Saturday 5th March, from 4pm – 7pm.

Aiming to bring a new dimension to the weekend line up, Downtown listeners can expect a great range of pop hits spanning the decades.

“I’m over the moon to have this opportunity to host my own show,” shares Lisa.

As the entertainment industry was forced to hit pause due to the pandemic, Lisa spent lockdown exploring new music and started to concentrate on her other passion – presenting. “This led to my own podcast series, which has been a great success.”

“My friends and family will confirm that I love to sing, but I also love to chat. I’ve always been a huge fan of radio and view it as a great way to connect with others. I plan to make The Lisa McHugh show as interactive as possible and generate a bit of buzz and energy on Saturday evenings.”

Not to worry, Lisa will still be making music, she's currently working on her next album! This announcement coincides with her new single 'Bad Idea' which she wrote after a fun night out with friends in Nashville a few years ago.

Welcoming Lisa to the Downtown team, Stuart Robinson, Content Director of Bauer Media NI said: “Lisa is a great addition to our weekend line up – she is upbeat, engaging and has a huge fan base. She is excited to be hosting her own show and based on the response to her podcast, we know she will inject that same warmth, fun and positively which we all need right now. Saturdays are certainly going to change for the better with Lisa in the hot seat!”

Join Lisa for her first show on Downtown Radio, Saturday 5th March, from 4pm-7pm.
