Northern Ireland’s Jordan Rawling has had a busy couple of days, he’s gone viral with his single ‘Scars’ being played on Love Island on Sunday night 🎉

Speaking to Cool FM and Downtown Radio Jordan shares his delight at hearing his song on TV. “Two years ago I hadn’t written a song, so it feels surreal to join the Love Island playlist. I poured my heart into ‘Scars’, I’m still at a loss for words and find this all hard to process.

“I was 90% sure the team were going to use my song, I was anxiously watching the penultimate episode, then it started at the pinnacle part, just after the vote out. It was so powerful!

Scars is a deeply personal song for Jordan, where he discusses mental health and the ‘scars’ that make us who we are. “Through our suffering and difficult experiences, we become more resilient and learn about ourselves. And even though a certain situation may be difficult at the time, it often leads to growth.

“I’m on a journey of embracing who I am, being at peace with my insecurities and what’s happened in the past. I’m changing my lens to see these experiences as a strength instead of something holding me back. Our scars are to be celebrated because everyone has them. It’s what makes us unique.”

Fellow singer/songwriter Dean Lewis is a friend and mentor to Jordan and he gave him the best advice.

‘He told me that ‘everything is one song away’ and it feels like that was manifested into a reality after the show. The response has been crazy!”

Jordan started out busking and gigging around Belfast, he during lockdown he began recording covers and duets on TikTok.

What’s next for Jordan? “I’m writing songs everyday and will be releasing my next song (which is my best yet) in a couple of months. I’m still busking and gigging in Northern Ireland, and I’m going on the Swedish Idol TV show.

Congrats Jordan!
