The 40th anniversary opening parade and ceremony for SuperCupNI kicked off in style with thousands of locals and tourists lining the streets of Coleraine for the annual event.

Spectators filled the stands at Coleraine Showgrounds to give the 64 teams taking part in this year’s football tournament a warm Northern Irish welcome.

Steven Davis, the Northern Ireland captain, and Rangers midfielder officially opened the 40th anniversary competition.

Davis is just one of several tournament alumni who have gone on to successfully have football careers.

Clubs playing this year include:

Four elite teams: Manchester United, Liverpool, Valencia, and Hertha Berlin.

Teams form: Mexico, Japan, the US, Bermuda, England, Scotland, Republic of Ireland and Irish League academy sides as well as six County select teams are also taking part.

The Parade and Ceremony in Coleraine town was followed by opening ceremony at the Showgrounds.

Teams from the USA have travelled to Northern Ireland to take part in the 40th SuperCup NI football tournament.
