He is a former two-weight world boxing champion.

He is an MBE and widely regarded a national hero.

He is also a husband and a dad of two, and now Carl Frampton has retired from professional boxing, saying he wants to spend more time with his young family.

The Jackal, 34, announced the end of his career on Saturday night after a failed attempt to win a world title in a third weight class. He was overcome by American Jamal Herring in the WBO super-featherweight contest in Dubai.
