Sir Jeffrey Donaldson is due back in court later and is expected to enter a plea to the charges against him.

The former DUP leader is facing historical sex offence charges, while his wife Lady Eleanor faces charges of aiding and abetting.

Mr Donaldson – who is 61 - is charged with one count of rape, four of gross indecency, and thirteen of indecent assault.

He has previously indicated he will contest the charges against him.

The arraignment hearing will take place at Newry Crown court.
