Bosses at Belfast City Airport have said the airport has now reopened and normal operations will resume today.

A spokesperson on Monday morning said: "Passengers impacted by yesterday’s runway closure, or those due to travel today should check the status of their flight with the airline before making their way to the airport."

Later on Monday morning, it was confirmed Belfast City Airport's runway was 'operating as normal'.

It is after a flight suffered a hard landing while arriving in Belfast on Sunday afternoon because of adverse weather conditions, an airline has said.

The Aer Lingus regional flight, operated by Emerald Airlines, landed at around 4pm on Sunday after flying from Edinburgh.

There were four crew on board and no passengers.
