Fire crews deal with blaze at Newry industrial estate
A total of 38 firefighters have been called in to tackle a huge blaze at an industrial unit in Newry that began in the early hours of Friday.
A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) Spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1.59am this morning to attend a fire in a large industrial unit in the Carnbane Industrial Estate, Springhill Road, Newry.
“Four Fire Appliances, 2 Aerial Appliances and a High Volume Pumping Appliance are in attendance at the scene.
"Thirty-eight Firefighters are currently dealing with a significant fire involving wood products.
“The incident is likely to continue for most of today. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
